Mill StreetDear patients, the surgery is changing the way we accept urine samples. If you are concerned you may have a urine infection you will be asked to hand in a urine sample and complete a form with the receptionist about your symptoms.
This form needs to be completed in full by our receptionist. If you are unable to answer all the questions your sample will not be accepted. If you are over the age of 65 years the samples are not tested in the practice but if appropriate will be sent directly to the lab. If an infection is not indicated by the answers on the symptom form the sample will not be sent to the lab. Depending on your symptoms the doctor may contact you for further review. We are changing this in light of patient safety issues highlighted by incidents at other practices. We do not want any serious conditions to be missed and hold patient safety in the highest regard.
